Danny composed all the music for my two-hour feature documentary “Generation 9/11” on PBS and ARTE (“Children of 9/11” on C4). It wasn’t an easy task: the music couldn’t be overly sentimental, but it also had to carry some really heavy moments, as well as capturing a 21st century youthful feel, accompanying seven very different characters through many different moods. Based on an initial creative conversation he produced a collection of amazing tracks — haunting, beautiful, and highly original, and then worked closely with us throughout the edit as the film evolved. He has an intuitive sense of emotion in music, works with space and textures in a way that gave the film a really unique feel. And he’s a fantastic collaborator, quick and reliable under pressure, always meticulous. And a pleasure to work with. I’d love to work with him again.

Danny and I have worked together on a number of large-scale immersive shows; Doctor Who, 28 Days Later and Bladerunner. Danny is a strong creative collaborator whose music and sound design form the backbone of our shows. His ability to be flexible and adaptable allows for the score to grow alongside the show itself which is so integral within an immersive environment

Editor Leigh Brzeski and I worked with Danny on The Lawman; A biography of footballer Denis Law for SKY Docs.
We had an idea of what we wanted and Danny was able to evolve that into something so much better than we could have imagined.
His music added so much to the tone and emotions of the documentary - It was incredibly satisfying refining cuts with his composed music to edit with. He also worked incredibly fast and constantly surprised us with the complexity he was able to achieve in such a limited timescale. I’d love to work with him again.

I have had the pleasure of working with Danny on a couple of projects this year as a Composer. I can’t recommend Danny highly enough, he is great to work with and the quality of work he delivered massively added value to the films. Needless to say, but his work was always on time and to budget.

I worked closely with Danny on the Genesis episode of One Strange Rock. He was a complete star. The brief was to bring both natural wonder sequences and micro-world VFX sequences to life in an intriguing, magical and immersive way. He did an absolutely barnstorming job. He was fast, inventive, creative, surprising and quick to make changes if needed. He scored giant waterfalls, horror-disco spider hunts, magical glowing caves, jungle-growth time lapses, travels inside DNA and a 2001-esque birth of the first living cell. Every sequence he touched he made better and brought a fantastic quality to it. He was also a joy to work with. If I could, I would work with him on every project I do!

As the owner and creative director of Ambr Music, I have worked with some amazing people and am glad to say Daniel is among the best. He has a natural talent for both music and sound-design and will always endeavour to go above and beyond what is required. I would and do highly recommend him to anyone. A real find!

I can’t recommend Danny enough as a Film Composer. Despite working with limited time and budget, he blew me away with his score for my Psychological horror film: Cerebrum.
Danny was really inventive, finding new ways to make the most unsettling and unique sounds imaginable which took the film to a whole new level. He was a great collaborator, open to feedback, and was always willing to tweak things to ensure the music served the narrative perfectly.
— Sébastien Blanc - Film Director
Danny is my go to composer now, after having worked with him on two of my most emotionally complex films.
His score to, the double Grierson Award winning, Stabbed: Britain’s Knife Crime Crisis was full of subtlety and space that respectfully helped us tell very difficult, and deeply moving stories, without ever tipping into over dramatisation.
A brilliant and intuitive collaborator, he creates seamless organic and electronic worlds that beautifully adorn the narrative.
— Toby Trackman | Director
Danny was a central part of the success of Call the Cops, an 8-part series we made for Channel 4. His score was critical to giving the series energy, suspense and it’s own distinctive identity and he never compromised or complained during the marathon edits that come with the territory. I’d work with him again in a heartbeat

I worked with Danny on Inside Britain’s Benefit Revolution, a 3 x 60’ BBC2 series filmed over the summer of 2019. He provided us with a great number of really strong, creative and unique tracks and sound-beds. He delivered a real variety, from bold music that gave us scope and scale, to quite personal and delicate scores that helped elevate emotion in a clever and nuanced way. He worked quickly and tenaciously and I would definitely work with him again.

I employed Danny as a Sound Designer on One Strange Rock after a recommendation from an editor. Danny turned out to be one of the best appointments we made. His sound work really improved the series. I have since employed him to score a short film and once again his enthusiasm and thoughtful dedication improved the film immensely. On top of that he’s a really nice bloke!

Danny worked with us on Secret Cinema’s production of 28 days later. Based on the Creative Director’s and Creative teams brief, he created an original score for our immersive production of the classic Danny Boyle horror. Not only was Danny a pleasure to work with, quick in turning around content and implementing feedback, the final score was an incredible work of music which really contributed to the success of the event.
— Andrea Moccia | Producer at Secret Cinema
I worked with Danny on an exhibition I curated at Selfridges with Saul Milton (Chase & Status), and he was able to realise our vision creating amazing soundscapes that brought the exhibition to life. I highly recommend him!

I’ve been working with Danny as a Sound Designer for about 13 years now and he has immeasurably added to every project we have worked together on. He produces bespoke and imaginative sounds and soundscapes that are totally unique and he is a pleasure to collaborate with. Two highlights for me were the incredible sounds he created for a sequence inside a Tokamak fusion reactor and the effects for an animation sequence that were pitched to work seamlessly with the music … a little bit of genius.
— Nic stacey | Director/Producer/Writer
I’ve had the pleasure of working with Danny on two Secret Cinema productions now. The technical ability and passion he has for both his music and sound design are incredible. Given a task he can turn it around quickly, creatively and is a true professional and artist. I can’t recommend him enough.
— Emmet O’Donnel | Head Sound Designer at Secret Cinema
Danny is very resourceful in using unconventional sound sources and instrumentation to create any type of composition. He has the capacity to innovate aural worlds almost instantaneously and to respond to any cultural context, vague brief or abstract visual without stylistic constraints.
Whether the sound source is electronic, instrumental or archival, Daniel’s music tracks are inspirational.
Creative, collaborative and communicative, he is a joy to work with.
